This is a maintenance release. It brings performance improvements and some bug fixes in the import and export functionalities.

v5.6.0

3.8.2024

In this release, we introduced new functions and fixed several bugs. Below is a detailed overview of our recent work.
New features:

  • We have added the option to make risk or measure filters essential. When filters are essential, users will see a warning if they are not filled in.
  • A brief explanation of the different filter settings has been added in the project settings to better guide users.
  • We have introduced a minimap feature in the brainstorm. When enabled, a small window appears at the bottom of the screen showing where the risks are on the canvas.
  • In addition to our earlier update, which allowed users to save filters for sorting risks and measures, we have now added the option to also save sorting settings, such as sorting by top risks.

Bug fixes:

  • We have simplified the warning window displayed when closing a brainstorm session with deleted risks in the trash. Users now receive a clearer warning about the consequences of their actions.
  • Added a warning pop-up that requires user confirmation when discarding a brainstorm session, preventing accidental discarding.
  • The link to the user manual on the website is now dynamic and adapts based on language settings. The manual is now displayed in the language you use RiskChallenger with.
  • We fixed an issue where reloading the OGM screen caused risks to be marked as edited when only being viewed.

v5.5.0

10.7.2024

In this release, we added some new features:

  • When closing a brainstorm session, you now also have the option to discard it. By discarding a brainstorm session, the input data will not be saved in the file
  • A settings tab was added in the brainstorm. The settings tab allows users to change the display language and theme (such as light or dark mode).

We also fixed some bugs:

  • We fixed a visual bug during voting sessions. The quantifier counter is now scaling with the quantifier that is being voted on
  • There was a missing translation which is now added

v5.4.0

30.6.2024

In this release, we've added a number of new features:

  • You can now save a filter set so that each user has their own filter set for each project. The filter set is stored per project and per user.
  • There is no longer a limit to the number of risks you can use to start a brainstorming session.
  • You can see which risks have been edited since the last time you opened a project. This is indicated by a check mark for the risks.
  • You will now receive a warning when you put a brainstorm with risks in the trash.

In addition, we fixed a number of bugs:

  • You can merge all files associated with a template. Before that, this was not possible if the template was linked later.
  • We now close the risk modal when you use the back button in the brainstorming app.
  • We've fixed some visual bugs on smaller screens in the filter panel.
  • You can no longer open the dropdown menus in the project and risk modals if you have read-only access.

v5.3.0

20.6.2024

In this release, a number of features and bug fixes were added:

  • It is now possible that only the facilitator can shift the risks in a brainstorming session. You set this up when you start a new brainstorming session.
  • Owners can now be added to risks, an option that is similar to action holders of measures. In the project settings, you can set that risk owners can edit their own risks if they “only” have reading rights.
  • If multiple projects are merged and a project area has been set for a number of projects, a combination of all those project areas is now shown in the merged file.
  • If a brainstorm session is not open for more than 2 weeks, the authorization expires. That authorization can now be restored by the facilitator, if they use the “rejoin” button from the file.
  • In the new brianstorm module, quite a few adjustments have been made to make it even more user-friendly.
  • Querying the history for filter values now works again. This did not work for a while for filters that were created before a certain date.
  • Files that are linked to a template without originally belonging to that template are now also shown in the list of linked files when merged.

v5.2.0

8.6.2024

In this release, several bug fixes were made and improvements were added for the new version of the brainstorm module.

  • However, risks with a long description can now be merged. The merged description is truncated to 1,000 characters.
  • If other participants move risks into the risk drawer, you can now see this live again.
  • Sorting by thumbs-score is now called sorting by rating.
  • The rating scores and comment counter now remain neatly on one line in the list view, even if a risk has a long description.
  • If the merging of risks is canceled, the original risks will now return to their former location.
  • Risks that are returned from the trash can now be stored in the drawer.

In addition, we also solved an issue where the risk points were not perfectly round anymore. This issue was visible in a number of browsers after an update.

v5.1.3

14.5.2024

This small release fixes an issue that occurred when saving the brainstorm.

v5.1.2

10.5.2024

In this minor release, a bug was fixed where the brainstorming function did not work properly.

v5.1.1

29.4.2024

In this minor release, a bug has been fixed where measures were not stored correctly.

v5.1.0

27.4.2024

In this release, we've launched a new version of our brainstorm. All the new features in this brainstorm are listed here:

1. Keep the brainstorm open - this feature creates the opportunity to give your team members more time to think about risks before or after the brainstorm. The facilitator can decide when to close the brainstorm, which makes clear expectations management possible. Thanks to this function, the brainstorm data remains better protected against loss of network connectivity.

2. Choose the way to brainstorm - free space or grid-shaped. With a whiteboard-like canvas, users can place risks where they want. If you only want to focus on introducing risks, you can start a brainstorm with the free space option turned off. This will show the risks in a grid style.

3. Improved participant view - you can now see the online status of the participants in the brainstorming session.

4. Live risk assessment - participants can see live what new risks are being typed

5. GIS integration in the brainstorm - add location-specific risks via the GIS integration in the brainstorm.

6. Assigning filters in the brainstorm - to make it easier to organize risks, you can now use filters in the brainstorming sessions. This minimizes work after a session is complete. The risk filters that are available are the ones you have in the case setup!

And these features are available in free space mode:

7. Dragging and positioning risks - you can now choose to drag and position risks onto the canvas. This allows you to use brainstorming sessions as a whiteboard where you have endless movement.

8. Grouping risks - Users can now group risks and name them. This is useful for visualizing risks that belong to the same category together. These groups can also be dragged across the canvas at once.

9. Aggregate risks - sometimes colleagues can come up with the same risk and introduce it into the brainstorm. You can now immediately combine two risks in the brainstorm to remove duplicate risks. This is a facilitator only feature.

v5.0.1

6.3.2024

An error has been fixed in this update. One of the export functions did not work properly, so files could not be loaded into Relatics. It has been modified in this version.

v5.0.0

3.3.2024

In this new version of RiskChallenger, we use another GIS integration and the use of maps, namely ArcGIS by Esri. As a user, you will notice the following improvements:

  • Global maps are now available for use.
  • The GIS functionality in the app has become considerably faster.
  • With this change, the project area is now clearly marked on the map, so that the contours of risks can be adjusted directly from the map.

In addition, this version has made an adjustment to the measures:

  • Measures can be linked to multiple risks. This allows a measure that involves different risks to be adjusted at once.

This version also includes many technical changes that are not visible to most users. Developers who use the API will notice this when they switch to the latest API version, v5. An overview of all developer changes are here to find.

RiskChallenger's updated GIS integration

v4.25.0

2.2.2024

In this release, we've added the last few bug fixes and new features for a major (technical) release coming soon. In v4.25.0, we made the following changes:

  • The terminology used has been updated. Previously, projects were called “files”, but from now on, the term “register” is used. This is more in line with the principles of risk management and which data is managed.
  • When starting from an existing register, you can choose which data to include and what not to include. The same goes for merging registers.
  • When automatic risk numbering is turned on and a risk was changed, it was not visible what the risk number was. This has now changed; the risk number is also shown in the edit screen.
  • The option to remove users clarifies that it involves removing the user from the environment.

In addition, other, smaller adjustments have been made to solve known pain points.

v4.24.1

29.1.2024

In this release, we fixed a small bug where, in some situations, a brainstorm could not be started.

v4.24.0

26.1.2024

We've added new features to our applications:

  • Linking templates and files is now much easier. Files can be linked and unlinked to an existing template via the settings.
  • From the dashboard, the risk scores can be adjusted. By clicking on the score, the “quick quantify” screen opens, after which the score can be updated.
  • The status and progress of measures are automatically updated when the measure is complete or the progress is 100%.

A number of visual issues have also been fixed and this version contains a fix for an annoying problem:

  • When starting a brainstorm with a limit on the number of risks, the appropriate risks are now used again to start the brainstorm.

v4.23.2

22.1.2024

An error has been fixed in this update. A problem was reported when opening a high-risk brainstorm. This did not work properly, but in this version, the limit has been significantly increased. As a result, large files can still be brainstormed.

v4.23.1

10.1.2024

An error has been fixed in this update. One of the export functions did not work properly. It has been modified in this version.

v4.23.0

5.1.2024

In this first update of the new year, a number of minor new features were added and a few bugs were fixed. Here are the most prominent changes:

  • The admin panel shows which integrations are linked to an organization.
  • Export options are clearer. The drop-down field for alternative methods has been removed; instead, an organization can access an alternative export method on demand.

v4.22.0

17.11.2023

This version includes a number of preparations for features that will be fully available later. We also added several features and fixed issues:

  • A message now appears when the internet connection fails, and users also receive a notification if the systems are unavailable.
  • RiskChallenger has been given a status page: https://status.riskchallenger.nl
  • Quantification sessions that last longer than one hour will now be well maintained. In the past, the connection was disconnected after a while, so this has now been resolved.
  • Brainstorm data is now only deleted if the brainstorm is explicitly closed (using the “save” or “back” buttons).
  • Error messages when merging files have been clarified.

v4.21.0

29.10.2023

This release fixes the following bugs:

  • If the heatmap changed because the project settings were adjusted, the settings screen did not close properly. That has now been fixed.
  • If the brainstorm facilitator wants to close the page and clicks “cancel” in the confirm screen, the brainstorm now remains intact again.
  • Nested filters remain selected when the user returns to the project screen from the OGM screen.
  • A template with linked files can now be saved again
  • If creating a file based on an Excel file does not go well, the load spinner now disappears again.

New features have also been added:

  • In the dashboard, a 'neutral' sorting can now also be selected in the table. This makes sorting in the dashboard more intuitive
  • The risk edit screen has now been tabbed, making it more similar to the project editing screen.

v4.20.0

3.10.2023

In this small update, a few improvements are visible:

  • When merging files, a filter menu can now also be used to select risks
  • The dashboard now also shows the start date in the measure overview

v4.19.1

This minor update fixed a bug where users were automatically redirected to the home screen after one hour of logging in.

v4.19.0

18.9.2023

In this update, we've made a lot of improvements. A number of new features have also been added to the applications. Here are the biggest changes:

  • In the admin panel, organization administrators can now also make other users organization administrators. The organization administrators are now also at the top of the list of users.
  • Modals such as the risk edit screen are no longer closed when you click outside the modal. This fixes a common issue where the screen closed when text was selected and the mouse went off screen before the selection stopped.
  • After closing a session (brainstorming or quantification), participants also see that the session is closed.

v4.18.1

27.8.2023

In the release of v4.18.1, a few new features and bug fixes were added. Below is an overview of the new features and bug fixes:

  • It is better kept track of when a risk has been updated, so it is easier to sort by.
  • The error messages that are displayed when importing a file incorrectly are more detailed and comprehensive.

v4.18.0

12.8.2023

We also fixed a number of bugs in this version:

  • The voting app for participants now uses the same correct language and terminology as the facilitator.
  • To remove a score, you will now first see a confirmation screen.

v4.17.0

27.7.2023

In the release of v4.17.0, several new features and bug fixes were added. Below is an overview of the (most important) features and bug fixes:

Major innovations:

  • The admin panel is now a little clearer and more consistent for all users, with more improvements coming to the admin panel soon.
  • In the quantification table, classifications can now be given weighting factors, so that the impact of scores for those classifications has a different impact on the overall score.

Furthermore, a number of smaller, noteworthy changes:

  • If it takes longer to load a file than you are used to, there is now an indication that the file is loading.
  • If the quantifying table only has qualitative classifications, the absolute scoring option cannot be modified to make it clear that that option has no effect in that case.

v4.16.3

7.7.2023

In this release, we've added an addition to the previous update. Notifications for measures that are close to the deadline are not sent for measures whose deadline has already expired. We have also made a technical adjustment that made it easier to send the notifications.

v4.16.2

4.7.2023

In this release, we have made an update that makes measure notifications work even better. In the file settings, the field for the period of measure notifications can no longer be left empty, so that the behavior of the app better matches the expectations for this setting

v4.16.1

  • Risk filters can now be set up in a tree structure.
  • From now on, templates can be modified if files are already linked to them.

In addition, there are a number of minor improvements:

  • Exported files now include more project settings (e.g. heatmap size).
  • Quantification is now possible with an accuracy of 2 decimal places.
  • In the project setup, all changes now come with a confirmation screen if you forget to save. This was not the case with the access rights and classification values (accidentally).

v4.14.0

15.5.2023

  • When creating a new file based on another file, you can now filter based on the filters created.
  • You're less likely to be notified that too many attempts have been made to take an action; we've adjusted the limits.

In addition, there are a number of minor changes:

  • “Empty” values with only spaces, for example, are no longer allowed in many places to avoid confusion.
  • In the filter panel, the numbers behind (selected) filter values are correct again, even if a limit on the number of risks has been set.
